The following day I did an afternoon trip to Sandia Crest and a good part of the Turquoise Trial.

After leaving Albuquerque I followed 66 for awhile then cut onto I 40 as 66 was running right along side the I 40. As I got closer the Texas boarder I noticed on the map that it moved away a little. I decided to go back to 66 for awhile. It was a good road for 4-5 miles the all of a sudden it turned to gravel and narrowed down very quickly. It was to narrow to turn around so kept on going. Lost I 40 in the distance and the road and bridges really narrowed down. Eventually ran across a road crew and they advised me that I was still on 66 and the bitumium and I 40 was only another 5 miles away.
