Raton KOA

Park entrance at 1330 South 2nd St Raton.                                     Office and check in, and Games Room

Due to the circumstances written on the previous page I stayed here overnight and ended up staying 2 nights. I found the owner here "Grant" very accommodating and friendly. He told me some history of the town and even gave me a discount voucher for a restaurant nearby. I had overstayed the checkout time the first day and he was not concerned with this after I told him of my situation. By the time I got the tyre fixed it was 4 pm, to late to travel to my planed destination so I  stayed an extra night and after the problems of the day I decided to go out for dinner.

I walked to K Bob's Steak house a block down the road and had a nice steak, beer and a glass of wine, very relaxing after a frustrating day.

I believe this RV Park is an ideally situated for a stopover for a day or so, between Colorado Springs CO. and Albuquerque NM.
