This state has only 14 miles of Route 66 in it but it was where I found the highlight of my trip. My grandson Cody simple adores Mater in the movie Cars and this is where I met Matter. I nearly missed this even though I was searching for him as it was at the far end of Galena and got confused as 66 split here the old highway and the new 66. The signage did not indicate this and luckily I followed the old highway and here was the garage with Matter outside. The garage had been renovated for a restaurant however it was closed the day I was there.

This short section of Route 66 in Kansas was just filled with allot of renovated history.
